Mali’s ethnic Tuareg accuse army of abuse

Ethnic Tuareg of Kidal complain of discrimination and abuse at the hands of the Malian army.

Malian troops are about to start some of the most intensive training they have ever received – courtesy of the European Union.

It will get underway at a base about 60 kilometres from the capital Bamako.

Nearly three months ago, France led a military intervention to drive fighters out of northern Mali.

But many people have not been won over by the government.
