Thailand probes stolen-passport ring

Men who used stolen passports to travel on missing Malaysia Airlines flight may have links to a smuggling syndicate.

Malaysian authorities say two men who used stolen passports to travel on the Malaysia Airlines plane that disappeared on Saturday may have been involved in a stolen-passport ring based out of Thailand.

The tickets they used to board the plane came from a travel agency in the Thai city of Pattaya, and the two European passports were stolen in the resort city of Phuket.

The rightful owners of the passports never boarded the plane.
