Climate change affects bee population

Warm weather in Croatia is causing the country’s bee population to come out of hibernation prematurely.

In the last few years, a third of the bee population has been lost in Europe. According to the Croatia’s National Beekeeper’s Association, there are 9,000 bee keepers with a bee population of nearly 500,000.

In Croatia, unseasonably warm weather is causing bees to come out of hibernation earlier in the year and has given Croatian officials a cause to worry.

And as Al Jazeera’s Simon McGregor-Wood reports, it could mean bad news all round.
